Banjo Synth Model 1 (BS-1)

The Banjo Synth was created by Kyle Ussery in 2024. It was built as a means to play both bass and keyboard sounds without the need to sit at a keyboard. It is comprised of four MIDI controllers with several different functionalities. While challenging, it is also endlessly inspiring to play. More info and a video is in the works. If you are interested in commissioning a BS-1 of your own, send us a message!

Gold Tone Banjo Bass

The Gold Tone Banjo Bass is such a fun instrument to play. It functions like a regular bass guitar except with a quicker decay and banjo like attack. It is featured in a ton of the FMS material. They are available for purchase directly from Gold Tone here.

Studio Logic MP-113 Foot Controller

This is a MIDI foot controller that is used pretty heavily in the Spaceship by Kyle Ussery. With his feet, it allows him to play synthesizer drone sounds, organ chords, Fender Rhodes chords and just about anything you can think of. This was brought into the band very early on, and helps round out the sound greatly. These are readily available online, and can be seen/heard in the videos below.

Gold Tone EB-5 Electric Banjo

In addition to the acoustic 5-String Banjo, Chris Elliott plays the electric banjo on much of the Spaceship material. The electric banjo handles effects and high volume much better for live purposes. It also has a very clean tone without as many overtones as a traditional acoustic banjo. These are available directly from Gold Tone. Here’s a video of Chris demoing the instrument, and a live performance.

Banjotron Acoustikit 2000™

Chris Sheldon developed the Banjotron Acoustikit 2000™ in the mid 2000’s as a means to play a more portable and acoustic friendly drum kit. Many details to come, keep your eyes out for a video.
